HealthTrust Announces Membership
with Health Industry Group Purchasing Association
WASHINGTON - HealthTrust Purchasing Group, a healthcare group purchasing organization based in Brentwood, Tennessee, recently announced its decision to become a member of the Health Industry Group Purchasing Association (HIGPA). In addition to membership, HealthTrust will also be given a seat on HIGPA's Board, which will be filled by Jim Fitzgerald, President and CEO of HealthTrust.
HealthTrust joining HIPGA is an historical occasion as it marks the unification of all GPOs as HIGPA members. "HIGPA is pleased to announce the addition of Jim Fitzgerald, President and CEO of HealthTrust to our membership and to our board" said HIGPA's Chair Darrel Weatherford. "HealthTrust is a leader in the GPO community and their membership signals a new era of unity, collaboration and support for the mission of HIGPA. This new partnership with HealthTrust will strengthen our efforts to advocate on behalf of the industry."
HealthTrust joined HIGPA effective July 2007.
