FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE HIGPA ELECTS ALLAN FINE TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 14, 2001) -- The Health Industry Group Purchasing Association (HIGPA) is pleased to announce that Allan Fine, vice president and director of the Chicago office of CHPS Consulting, Inc., has been elected to HIGPA's Board of Directors. Mr. Fine is the second outside director to serve on HIGPA's Board, following the appointment in October 2000 of D. McWilliams Kessler, executive director of the Wills Eye Hospital, as HIGPA's first outside director. "Allan brings decades of experience in the health care supply chain to HIGPA's Board of Directors," said HIGPA President & CEO Robert Betz, Ph.D. "I can think of no other business and financial consultant with more experience and knowledge. HIGPA welcomes him into the Association." As vice president and director of the Chicago office of CHPS Consulting, Inc., Mr. Fine has extensive experience in strategy, managed care, strategic partnering, post-merger integration, marketing, sales, marketing analysis, and facilitating board and senior executive retreats. He has assisted providers, MCOs, ancillary providers, and pharmaceutical companies develop, validate, and implement enterprise-wide strategic plans, marketing plans, and mergers/acquisitions.
