HIGPA Diversity and Innovation Task Force

The HIGPA Diversity and Innovation Task Force is a group of individuals from various member companies that meet bi-monthly to discuss ways that the task force can positively promote the good works of GPOs. Specifically the task force assists with supplier reach out. The task force also determines ways for GPOs to promote these programs at the annual International Expo event. Below is a listing of some of our GPO members supplier diversity programs.

Supplier Diversity Programs

Amerinet

Amerinet believes minority- and women-owned businesses are cornerstones of our economy and the communities in which they are based, contributing both socially and economically to the development and growth of these regions. Acting on our belief, the Amerinet Supplier Diversity Program is a resource connecting Amerinet members with Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs), and the HUBs with other Amerinet supplier partners.

The Amerinet Supplier Diversity Program includes:

Direct Amerinet contracting with HUBs, providing member facilities an avenue to purchase from and support HUBs, and contributing to economic development in the local community
The Partnership Program, which encourages business relationships between HUBs and other Amerinet supplier partners

Amerinet develops contracts where it supports and reflects the needs of our membership. We will practice contracting that is competitive, fair and allows participation by qualified HUBs. For more information on Amerinet's Supplier Diversity Program, visit

Broadlane Supplier Diversity Program

Supplier Diversity process focuses on developing contracting opportunities and relationships with historically underutilized businesses (HUBs). Our diversity supplier inclusive sourcing process cultivates community economic development, builds successful business relationships with HUBs and supports our clients’ supplier diversity purchasing goals. Broadlane defines HUBs, or diverse suppliers, as certified minority-, women-, service-disabled or veteran-owned and disadvantaged small businesses.  Diversity Suppliers must be certified by a third party agency before the supplier registration due date indicated on our bid calendar.

Child Health Corporation of America

CHCA is committed to ensuring that its procurement efforts and those of its vendors are effective, fair and competitive, and include as many minority and female-owned businesses as is practical. CHCA and its affiliated entities will foster an atmosphere that invites the broadest possible participation of these businesses in CHCA's procurement efforts and those of Participating Owners. It is CHCA's intent to increase the sales and participation of qualified minority and female-owned businesses and to link them to our corporate and business partners whenever possible. Member management plays a vital role in this effort, identifying appropriate minority and female-owned contractors and subcontractors for CHCA and its vendors.

It is our belief that CHCA's vendors should provide qualified minority and female-owned businesses with the opportunity to participate in the mainstream of business activities. CHCA desires to assist its business partners in this endeavor and will work with each of them to increase the participation of cost-effective minority and female-owned businesses as their contractors and subcontractors, insuring that such suppliers are given the opportunity to bid competitively.

MedAssets Supplier Diversity Program

At MedAssets, we understand the value of diversity in our customers, the communities in which they live, our supplier base and our portfolio. One way in which we support these values is through the Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) program, which was developed to assist facilities in meeting purchasing goals and to support customer efforts to build a strong and diverse community. Maximizing opportunities for growth and sustainability among our diverse suppliers results in a more diversified portfolio of innovative, quality products, and contributes to competitiveness in the supply chain. An open and inclusive contracting process offers opportunities for minority business enterprises - including small disadvantaged, small Veteran, HUBZone, woman and minority-owned companies to compete in the healthcare marketplace.

Novation and the VHA Inc.

University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) and Provista, LLC members it serves, is committed to encouraging and supporting the development of minority, women and small veteran (veteran, disabled veteran, service-disabled veteran) business enterprises (MWVBEs) that meet high quality standards. The members we serve are committed to economic development in their communities and require qualified MWVBEs to be developed and utilized as suppliers to Novation where appropriate.

Access to a wide variety of MWVBE suppliers and distributors available through a database allows for greater supplier choice for the members. The database enables the tracking of contracted activity to aid members' measurements of their respective organizational commitments and facitlitates meeting regulatory reporting requirements.

Novation's Supplier Diversity Program includes purchasing and medical-surgical distribution agreements. Upon request, Novation can customize exclusive, locally negotiated medical-surgical distribution agreements for any member that would like to purchase Novation-contracted products or noncontract products through a MWVBE medical-surgical distributor.
