Criteria for Nomination

All nominations submitted will be reviewed based on, but not limited to, the following criteria, with more ‘weight’ given to participation in the past twelve-eighteen months:
  • Current HIGPA member.
  • Participation in HIGPA’s volunteer-based steering committees, task forces, and special focus groups.
  • Participation in HIGPA’s educational events.
  • Recruitment of ‘new’ HIGPA members and/or educational event attendees.
  • Speaking opportunities either at a HIGPA event or promoting HIGPA and the health care purchasing industry.
  • Conducting/promoting new innovative programs, initiatives that are focused on the betterment of the health care purchasing industry.
  • Authored/co-authored articles for trade journals or national publications that promote HIGPA and the health care purchasing industry.
  • Authored/co-authored research or ‘white’ papers that help to promote/define the health care purchasing industry.
  • Other, tangible ways in which the nominee(s) promote HIGPA and the health care purchasing industry.

Established in 1997, the Awards of Excellence are part of the Health Industry Group Purchasing Association's focus on improving excellence in service between vendors and purchasers in order to better serve customers and patients.

The focus of the Awards of Excellence is to raise the standards of excellence in the health care purchasing and supply chain industries through service, commitment and leadership.
